Lab Tests on Picklex®20 Rust Converter/Inhibitor with Very Long-Term Rust Protection

Testing and Approval–Painting Test: Sample steel panels (with surface rust), treated with Picklex®20, primed and painted with automotive paint, have been tested for over 1540 hours of salt spray (ASTM B-117 specification), with minimum surface preparation, eliminating lot of labor, time, and cost for surface preparation before painting. Note: The salt spray test result will vary depending on the treatment time and the type of primer & paint used.

Welding Tests–General Motors Corp. Spot welding performed on 30 pieces of steel steering parts, showed 60% increased weld strength consistently.

PSI, Inc. Fillet welding on cold, rolled steel showed 43% increase in weld strength. Also, welding performed on mill scale (hot, rolled steel) after applying Picklex®20 showed 8% increase in weld strength, as compared to welding performed on bare metal surfaces by the standard AWS process.
